Give Away Friday: Encouragement for a Christian Mom

Hey! It's Give Away Friday again! 

My plan when I began this was to do a give away every Friday. But if you are like me, full time SAHM with 4 kiddos that you homeschool and got lots of things going on, you know it can get crazy.

I will be the first to admit that I have a hard time finishing what I start. I get all excited in the beginning and then life gets busy and some things just fall by the wayside. But I will do my best to persevere and keep this Friday Give Aways going!

In the first one, I gave away Teach Them To Your Children - An Alphabet of Biblical Verses, Poems and Stories. It ran for more than  3 weeks... I don't know how long this give away will run.. it will probably end with another post on a Friday or the first day of the next month with my Learning Log... Now about "Parenting is your Highest Calling"... I don't know about you but as a Homeschooling Christian mom I am always looking for encouragement or advice in what I can do better. Most of the time, the books on parenting or homeschooling leave me feeling LESS than. Do  you know what I mean?

There is always something I am lacking. I am never doing enough and if I don't do things

this way or that way, then my kids are going to turn out so wrong they will never get a job, go to college, make it to Heaven... you fill in the blanks.

Leslie wrote one of the few books that REALLY encouraged me. Basically she says it's in God's hands. Yes, you have responsibilities as a mom and a Christian, but do we really think we are IN CONTROL??? Please don't fool yourself. Relax and enjoy the ride. Stop stressing.

So if you are like me: you worry, you are constantly re-evaluating curriculum, attitudes, etc etc... you need this book.

This book will make you see things differently. It will make you appreciate your family and who God has put together.

 And what the heck is that picture? That is the cell cake my DD10 made yesterday for the Science Fair she participated in today. I will do my best to do a blog post exclusively about the Science Fair. It was so much fun and we discovered so many gifts and talents.

Selling my WACOM CINTIQ 12WX

Hey everybody!!

Are you ready for Christmas? shopping like crazy?

I am selling my Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet right HERE. My husband bought it for me a while back and unfortunately homeschooling 4 children under 8 years old I have not been able to use it like I wanted. I used a couple of times to experiment with it and it is a fascinating tool for drawing, coloring and more. If you are familiar with Photoshop you can do a lot of it on your Cintiq with a Pen instead of a mouse. It is a fun and very useful tool. It comes with a version of Photoshop so if you ever wanted to try Photoshop you can without having to purchase it.

I have been hoarding it for a while in hopes my DD8 could use it in the future but I NEED the money. So we are selling it to pay for some of our renovations at our new home.

Bridesmaid Wedding Custom Made Scrapbook page

I have been creating Bridesmaids' thank you cards and invitations for a while now and I have this desire to make a scrapbook page for the ladies. The thing is: although I am married and had a wedding I never had bridesmaids. :( So, I had the idea of offering my services to create a Custom Made Wedding Scrapbook page. It could be for any part of the wedding, really. I just want to try my techniques and style on a wedding page.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

ok..here is the Diva layout!!




I am going to start listing again on Ebay after the first of January. so be sure to sign up for my newsletter or follow the blog to know when I list my Premade pages on Ebay.

After Christmas I want to share photos of a special place...so please be sure to be back on the weekend after Christmas. :)

As for the layout, I used a transparency that I made myself with StazOn ink and Fancy Pants stamps. I finally got a hold of a couple 12x12 Fancy Pants Stamps for a great price on Ebay... what is that saying that goes "Great things come to those that wait"?

Last year at this time, each of those 12x12 acrylic sets were going for over $38.00. I got each for $14.00 shipping included.

So next time you want something you might want to search Ebay. Also it's always good to wait a while before you get a brand new released gadget or item. If you are not the first one to buy, you end up paying a better price and finding out all the glitches and problems with it without having to go through the hassle.

So Great things DO come to those that wait. Now, if you are impatient, then go ahead and do all the testing for me.!! HA!! anyway, LOL

A sneak peek of my DIVA 12x12 layout!

It's still raining....it has been the whole week!! I am beginning to get a little depressed with all this grayness. :( I have found a little refuge in making colorful designs lately.

NEW 12x12 Premade layouts on Ebay!!!

I was going to list a NEW layout called DIVA that I just finished this past weekend on Ebay. Unfortunately the weather is really ugly today: rainy and cloudy; and just horrible for picture taking. Since it's so close to Christmas and we are all busy, I decided I will list it after the first of the year.

However, as soon as the weather permits I will be taking photos and I will post the layout here as well as on my Scrapbook.com gallery. So be sure to check back!!

I also made some last minute Christmas cards but I won't be listing those either. I will share them later this week. :)

the JOYS of WINTER - 12x12 Layout on Ebay

hi everyone, it has been raining for the past 2 days in my neck of the woods. We are shut indoors with lots to do!! :)

This is a quick post just to let you know what I am listing tonight.

The last Ebay layout I listed sold AFTER the auction was over. I had 2 people email me about it AFTER the auction is over. Due to limited time I am NOT relisting my layouts. If they don't sell, I am using them. I am putting my own pictures on them and filing them in my scrapbooks. I wonder how many Ebay scrappers do that? How many layouts with Tear Bears can one have? ;)

Anyway, here is the layout I am listing tonight. And I am re-listing another layout just because I could not find the perfect photos for it. :( I will be looking for them though, because I am NOT re-listing it again. :)





I have used 2 vintage prints to demonstrate how to use the layout. The first one is one a 4x6" mat and the second is a print that is almost 5x7". There is enough room on the layout to hold 2 4x6" photos, or more than 3 photos cropped to 4x4" or 3x5".

Bridesmaids' Cards, Handmade Christmas card and a vintage 12x12 layout on Ebay!

Hi everyone,

Winter is already driving me nuts! I am tropical girl and I just cannot stand being cold and trapped inside a house because of winter. So my children and I have been crafting away since there isn't much to do outside: cloudy, rainy and cold!! :(

Honoring a Breast Cancer fighter!!

I have a return customer that requested I make her a card for a friend of hers who is battling Breast Cancer. She wanted a Thanksgiving Card and asked me to make Pink Pumpkins. :)

I had never made pink pumpkins but I was so touched by her request. So I came up with this card:

Family Album SOLD and next Give Away!

My Family album sold AFTER the auction was over!! Now, tell me that isn't God's favor??!!! :) A sis from northern California contacted me saying she saw the album but the auction was over. She inquired if it was still available. So we closed the transaction really smoothly. She is an Etsy lover too so it was easy breezy!!

My experience with Etsy has been that sellers and buyers are more personal and professional at the same time. Transactions there occur very smoothly and people just appreciate one another. I thing there is less stress since fees are so reasonable. ;)

Anyway, I will be posting more later. Now, just a quick note to my followers and subscribers that my next Give Away will be held on October 15th. More on that later!!!

BoBunny Altered Word Album

When BoBunny came out with these Altered Word albums made of chipboard I quickly grabbed me a few. They are so much fun to make. I have made a BELIEVE album, a couple of BABY albums, a LOVE album and my latest one is a FAMILY album.

With my first 4 I used pattern paper to cover each letter and then proceeded to embellish and place the mats. With my last one I wanted to try something different.

I also purchased the SPLENDOR paper kit from BoBunny with My Enabler. I just loved all the reds, black and touches of green and yellow of that collection. So I thought a black background to the paper would look beautiful.

So my quick take on the album was to PAINT the whole album with BLACK acrylic paint and then stamp it with white ink. Oh, I had so much fun.

I also painted some Prima flowers. I didn't have the red and green flowers I was looking for so I painted them. Here is a closer look at that technique.

I also wanted to use some felt but didn't want to go spend money on it. So I used the felt I had in my stash: those 8x11" pieces of felt you can buy at any craft store. I stamped on them and cut out some pretty flourishes. Here is another closer look at that technique.

Here are a few more looks at the album. I added glossy accents to some of the flowers and die cuts to give the embellishments that glossy and smooth 3D finish.

Premade 12x12 Layouts on EBAY!!!

It's been over a month since I have listed Premade pages or Layouts on Ebay! We were busy with my parents and I had a ton of custom orders for Bridesmaids' invitations and wedding custom tags and other things. Not counting all the cards I have been making for the troops!! :P

Anyway, I have been browsing lots of new blogs. There are some that are in foreign language that I do not speak or understand at all. But the pictures tell it all!!! I have been so inspired. I will make a point of listing some of those on the right side of my blog in the near future. But for now, I wanted to share with you what I have listed on Ebay.






There were lots of new techniques I had never done before on this layout. I had a great time making it. I think this is one of my favorite layouts so far!!! I will be sure incorporating some of that grungy, distressed and layers on future creations.

Here is another layout. This one the inspiration came from the latest Creating Keepsakes magazine. I just had to try drawing me some pumpkins too. My take was on the black cardstock though. I also doodled on those buttons. They are available to you on my Etsy shop.

Hi, my name is Tereza and I am a Paperholic.

That's how the meeting of paperholics would begin in any Local Scrapbook Store. LOL

Are you a Paperholic?? I am!! I love paper, textures, patterns. Bright paper, flowery, distressed (or stressed like Mom says!), textured paper, glittered paper...there are certain brands and collections that I could buy all of them and just look at them. Yes, that's right! I have the Hardest time using my Paper. IF only, I would use them. :(

About a year and a half ago I bought huge LOTS of paper and scrapbook lots on Ebay. Oh, Lord!! :) Those were beautiful mornings when I would greet my mail man or the UPS guy with a huge smile as I grabbed and hugged my packages.

Then, my dining room became my Scraproom but there was clutter everywhere and I couldn't function. So I began decluttering. I sold many lots on Ebay... But still the papers grew. In a month or so I will be selling another one.

I had bought one of those metal shelves...there are like 20 selves and they are constructed on top of wheels, so supposedly you should be able to wheel them to where you needed your paper to be. Well, that thing tumbled over and fell apart twice!!

My husband's comments: "There are too many papers on that thing. It won't hold that many. Get rid of some of that." A couple of days later: " you're buying more paper? But what about that thing full of papers over there?"

So I made a decision: not to buy any more paper. It's been so very hard. As a browse the auctions of brand new papers on Ebay, the new designs on the manufacturers' websites, the layouts with the new released papers...so hard. So hard to keep from buying. But my resolve stands!!! I am not buying any more paper until I have used 75% of what I got. :(

So here is my plan:

1) Make more layouts
2) Use my 12x12 papers to make 6x6" cards. Click HERE to see the cards I have already made.
3) Put my beautiful paper to work and cover all those word albums that I have that are collection dust.
4) Make more cards and layouts.
5) Sell what I can part with. Yes, not what I won't use, what I can PART with. This is a really difficult thing to do. If you are a Paperholic you understand. LOL
6) Re-vamp the paper I got....AH!!! now that is very doable, specially for a creative soul like mine that loves to try new things.

So this is what I did... Here is the original paper...(will someone name that collection and year, please?)



Now this is thick paper, double sided and gorgeous colors. How can I get rid of it?? No, no!! So I cut out the flowers, doodled on them and used them on a 8x8 layout.

Now, if only I could do the same with Stamps. :( I just bought 5 new stamps. Can't wait to smile to my mail man and hug my Priority box. :)

Christmas in July LOT on EBAY!!!

Ok, I think I am finally done cleaning up my studio.

I will list tonight on EBAY a huge Lot of Gift items and Christmas cards. There is a little something for everybody...there are 2 Paper bag albums, 2 altered jars, Rose cottage gift tags, one altered tin for all those Christmas goodies, an altered gift tag album and lots, lots of Christmas cards.

TIME FLIES!!!

This past week I got inspired to create a layout to record how time flies. I see it everyday as I put away baby's clothes that do not fit any longer, as I search for a new pair of shoes for my growing child, as I see Spring is gone, Summer is here, soon Fall will come.... time flies...and we waste so much time in what is temporal and forget the eternal.

So to remind myself of the preciousness of time, I created this layout that is up for grabs on Ebay. Check out the link to my listings on Ebay on the right side of this blog.




this is what I did:
1) I masked some flourishes using distressing inks. Then I hand cut some letters from a patterned paper. I used them to once again mask the background cardstock and adhered them to the top left after that.
2) I doodled on the images masked. I cut a large circle out of patterned paper.
3) I added a clock printed on vellum, as well as flourishes stamped on Vellum. I used clear rhinestones to show how precious time is, but how we let it go unnoticed.
4) Last I added the title in the flower and another question: "where did time go?" written out in the flourishes.





I think this would be a beautiful layout for before and after photos, i.e., first and last day of school, or your baby boy at 2 years old and then at 6 years old. Your child when he/ she started high school and graduation day...there are so many events that portray how time has flied and the changes it has brought. Enjoy!!!

Just wanted to share with you...

The lighting does not do justice to this layout!! I got this layout listed on Ebay now!!

I had so much fun creating it...there is a lot of masking and doodling and so much light!! The black and white contrast really nice and all the extra color make the whole layout pop.
