Reading list of January 2011

Because we read so much and we have many children I decided to keep a list of the books we read monthly. This way I can have a reference list for future use.

Below are most of the books we read during the month of January 2011. Reading level varies and some were Read Alouds but most of them DD8 read by herself, and Wyzard or I read to the children.

Messy Bessie: Where's My Homework?
Great Day for Up (Bright & Early Books(R))
Pete's Chicken
It Could Always Be Worse: A Yiddish Folk Tale (Michael Di Capua books)

Warm in Winter by Erica Silverman
The Pigeon Wants a Puppy
Olivia Goes to Venice
Titanic - Disaster at Sea by Martin Jenkins and Brian Sanders
Hershey's Milk Chocolate Multiplication Book

Where was Patrick Henry on the 29th of May? by Jean Fritz
And then what happened Paul Revere? by Jean Fritz

The Magic School Bus on the Ocean Floor
The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body
The Magic School Bus Inside the Earth by Joanna Cole
Adding it Up (Get Set for Kindergarten!)
The Magic School Bus At The Waterworks
Ms. Frizzle's Adventures: Imperial China (From the Creator of the Magic School Bus) (Magic School Bus, The)
Where do rivers go? (Ask me why)
The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System

Take a Number - new ideas + imagination = more fun by Jeanne Bendick and Marcia Levin
First Number Book
Explore the World of Mighty Oceans by Susan Wells
Where do you think you're going, Christopher Columbus? by Jean Fritz
Simple Physics Experiments With Everyday Materials

All the books above where checked out at my local library. I have provided the Amazon links to some so you can easily see them, read reviews or see inside them, as well as see how much they cost.

I also have not sorted them into subjects because one of the concepts of Unschooling or life learners is that LIFE is not separated into subjects. At our home, we learn as we live: day by day, one task or experience after the next one.

Enjoy! Would you like to share which books you read this past month with your children?

Be blessed,
